The 12 month Peak Performance Development Program (P3) is designed to accelerate the development of a pipeline of skilled Sales Associates through both classroom and on the job training. The Associate will report directly to the District Manager and be assigned to a Field Trainer for daily guidance. The Associate will support the District sales targets by supporting existing accounts as well as developing and executing a plan to develop their own within Company policies/procedures and the assigned expense budget. The Sales Associate will receive structured quarterly product and sales training and assessment to grow into a Sales Rep role within 12 months. It is expected that the Sales Associate will be geographically mobile. A Sales Representative Associate has contributory responsibility to gross profit on the sales in the U.S. and specific sales areas, and will assist with cases as well as cover cases for the District Sales Reps.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned. Gains and maintains an acceptable level of knowledge of the Orthopaedic Trauma product line, business objectives, pricing strategies, and proven sales techniques for Orthopaedic Trauma products and all other Orthopaedic products. Pass all classroom and on the job training assessments. Grows in Trauma sales to ensure movement into a Trauma Sales Rep role within 12 months of joining the training program. Helps achieve sales quotas for Trauma Orthopaedic products within assigned areas in close collaboration with Field Trainer and District Manager. Provides product knowledge support to targeted S&N Trauma market segments and customers including support in market surveys, product idea evaluations, and competitive research. Establishes and maintains written and oral communication with both field and internal sales management with attention to sales calls made, follow-up required, market potential and recommendations at to new sales, pricing, or promotional strategy. Assists in building and maintaining a high level of enthusiasm for Orthopaedic Trauma products within assigned area. Plan activity calendar and organizes time to achieve agreed-upon goals established between the Regional/District Management and the Orthopaedic Sales Management as directed. Responsible for field inventory and Sales samples as assigned by the District Manager. Assists in working the major national conventions and local/regional meetings as determined by District Manager. Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or Product Development required or other related degree
Minimum of 18 months sales and/or related experience in a relevant industry. Ideally, two years sales support or sales experience within Orthopedic or Medical Device Industry. Requires ability to meet travel demands and work within a fast paced, high growth, dynamic environment. Requires ability to lift multiple instrument implant kits weighing approximately 20 lbs. each. Requires valid driver’s license applicable to current residence to facilitate travel requirements of the position. Requires strong PC applications skills to include proficiency in various software applications such as spreadsheets, databases, and word processing, preferably Word for Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Requires a dynamic, assertive individual with technical-oriented leadership ability and well-developed communication and presentation skills. Requires “Hands on” Training and Technical Support style of sales management. Requires good business sense and an understanding of how marketing (pricing, discounting, etc.) ties into the profitability of a company.
